Advanced Kinetics Recovery Aides
Alter G: Anti-Gravity Treadmill
The Alter-G: Anti-Gravity Treadmill uses air pressure to reduce the amount of weight the user feels, allowing you to walk, run, or perform other weight-bearing exercises in a reduced-gravity environment. The Alter-G Treadmill is commonly used for aerobic conditioning, sport-specific conditioning programs, weight control and reduction, gait training and neuromuscular re-education in neurologic patients, strengthening and conditioning in geriatric patients, rehabilitation following injury or surgery of the lower extremities, and rehabilitation after total joint replacement.
Recommended use:
It is most commonly used for physical therapy after sports injuries, knee and hip replacement or stroke. Speak with your physician before inquiring about using an Alter-G Treadmill.
What Are the Benefits of Using the Alter G Treadmill?
The Alter-G Treadmill provides:
Unweighted running: This reduces impact on joints surfaces, musculature, and general stress on the body
Gait Analysis: This advanced technology such as the stride smart system can allow for gait and video analysis to measure cadence, stride symmetry and length, and side-to-side weight-bearing differences
Anti-Gravity: This provides the ability to gradually re-introduce gravity and increase weight bearing as tolerated after an injury
These features of the Alter-G provide benefits such as:
Pain-free movement
Rapid return of motor control
Protection of tissue that is still healing
Improved range of motion
Smooth progression to full recovery
Normatec Boot
Normatec boots utilize patterned massage and compression that mimics the body’s natural motions of the arms and legs to remove fluids and metabolites from the body after an intense workout. These pulsing movements are helpful in preventing injuries and accelerating recovery time
Recommended use:
Once a week for 30 minutes unless your training regimen requires higher activity. It’s best to use the boots on days after the gym or a sports training session.
What Are the Benefits of the Normatec Boot?
Improved circulation: Natural pulsating mimics the natural pumping of the body which can increase blood flow.
Reduced inflammation and swelling: Mimicking the natural pumping of the body promotes circulation and lymphatic drainage which can reduce inflammation and swelling.
Faster recovery time: Increased blood flow helps remove lactic acid and metabolic byproducts which can prevent delayed-onset muscle soreness.
Infrared Sauna
Recommended use:
3-4 times a week for less than 30 minutes at a time. Stay hydrated after sessions and rinse off after to avoid toxins being reabsorbed.
What Are the Benefits of an Infrared Sauna?
Pain relief: Infrared sauna expands blood vessels and increases circulation promoting healing to injured areas
Reduce stress: Heat loosens and relaxes musculature decreasing stress on the body
Improves skin: infrared heat improves circulation, removes dead skin cells, and expels toxins from the skin
Improved health: Heat increases metabolic rates and stimulates cellular energy which leads to weight control and boosts the immune system
