    AKPT Scapular Study

Named Best Physical Therapy Practice by Arlington Magazine's readers in 2021

Advanced Kinetics Physical Therapy is calling all baseball players ages 14-18 years old to help us conduct a scapular (shoulder blade) stability study.  We will be comparing two different scapular stability programs that are widely used in physical therapy for this unique population of patients.  We want to conduct this study to find out which scapular program is superior to the other.  The knowledge gained from this study will help shape the future treatments for baseball players and overall help our profession to improve the prevention of baseball injuries.

If you would like to participate or know anyone who could potentially be a participant please share the below information.

The study will start on July 11th, 2022.

We will be testing each athlete’s baseline strength of their scapula.  Following the testing, each athlete will be assigned to a group and will be required to perform a set of scapular exercises 5 days a week for 6 weeks.  At the conclusion of the 6 weeks, we will ask each athlete to come back to retest their strength.

If you would like to participate but are unable to attend the follow testing dates/times, please email Angela ([email protected]) and Kwang ([email protected]) to set up another date/time.
